Can I see my patient’s medication history in their SHIN-NY records?
Yes.
If you’re using the patient record snapshot, you can see the complete medication history the same way a PCP would see it during a routine physical—as long as the patient has given consent for you to use the SHIN-NY to access their records. This view is not available in SHIN-NY Snapshot NY.
Using either snapshot, you also have one-click access to New York’s PMP controlled substance prescription history database from within the patient’s record, as well as the state’s PSYCKES mental health database.
