Can we use Hixny alerts for all our patients?
Yes, with a couple of exceptions.
As long as your patient has given your organization consent to access their records through the SHIN-NY, you can receive our alerts for them. That’s also true for our patient record snapshot solutions.
One exception is patients who haven’t given consent—in which case, you can’t receive alerts for them, and you can only view their records in an emergency.
The other exception is that you can’t receive alerts or see records for care the patient received at facilities that aren’t connected to the SHIN-NY—like federal Veterans Administration (VA) hospitals or clinics.
