Do we have to choose Hixny as our QE to use its solutions?
Short answer? No.
Healthcare providers, organizations, and facilities are required to sign New York’s Statewide Common Participation Agreement (SCPA) to connect to the SHIN-NY, and to select a QE to provide core services, like patient look-up.
You can choose your traditional, geographically determined QE. Or, you can take the opportunity to select another QE like Hixny, which may suit your needs better now and in the future. Since all QEs are connected through the SHIN-NY, the choice is a matter of preference.
At the same time, the SHIN-NY has partnered with Hixny to make our cutting-edge solutions available statewide, no matter who your QE is. We hope you’ll choose us as your QE, too, but it’s not a requirement, and your choice doesn’t affect the solutions or service you can expect.
